DESCRIPTION:

Amikacin sulphate U.S.P is semi synthetic aminoglycoside antibiotics derived from kanamycin. Amicin is supplied as a sterile, clear, colorless solution.

INDICATIONS:

Amicin is indicated in the short-term treatment of serious infection due to susceptible strains of gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas species, Escherichia coli, species of indolepositive and indole-negative Proteus. Providencia species, Klebsiella-enterbacter-Serratia species, and Acinetobacter (Mima-Herellea) Species.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

The patients per-treatment body weight should be obtained for calculation of correct dosage. Amicin may be given intramuscularly or intravenously.

HOW SUPPLIED:-

Amicin is supplied as a colorless solution which requires no refrigeration. It is stable at controlled room temperature. (15°C – 30°C) until the expiration date indicated in the package. At times the solution may becomes a very pale yellow/this doses hot indicate a decrease in potency.
